Most Gracious Grand-Master Nightwalker,
My deepest apologies must first be described before any further
communication. Yes your men did fight in the great battle of Port Annorrur.
Valiantly from the stories that I have been told. A great service was
done to us by your consideration of our welfare in this matter. I am indeed
indebt to you for this.
I must say that I was surprised by your Republics actions in Northern
Midsea all the same. This action is however supported by your statement of
Tyranny from the hand of Milakanur and a liberation of peoples justly
deserved. This is a noble act indeed if all statements are thus true. I do
not wish to accuse you of leading me falsely for in doing so I would most
definitely injure your honor which I will stray from. The acts of your men
in battle are enough to show me that you Grand-Master are indeed a noble man
of noble lineage. Therefore such illusions are above one such as yourself.
The declaration I personally made was not to show hostility in any way
towards you, your men, or even your beloved Kaeir. Politics are indeed a
very treacherous thing. Us being noble men I shall be honest and perhaps
blunt with you.
Milakanur as you I am sure know has of late become a good friend to us.
It has been one of the first places where we have established an embassy, as
well as a trade alliance. They sent over 10,000 troops as well as supplies
to Aixelsydon and ourselves to help battle the ice demons. Which I might
add the battle still continues. There is now an army of 20,000 demons on
the coastline who must be routed or they will surely return again. This
responsibility it seems has now fallen to my people and mine alone. A
strong ally close to home is always important. Comparable to the ties of
Sedonia and Kaeir, Rhudyn is trying to procure such a friendship with a
neighbor. Milakanur although not bordering us, is relatively close. Not
wishing to declare war upon you as a foolhardy madness I thought out an
easier plan that would not harm Kaeir and yet show Milakanur that we do
support them as they supported us.
Seeing now that this is more a religious matter to your people than a matter
of struggle for power, I see my folly in rashness, though I believe it is
still understandable. To make amends I will say thus, Kaeir ships will be
harbored when in need of aid. Even if the aid is from acts of war. Trade
will continue to be banned simply because I still wish to show support to an
ally who risked much on our behalf and weakened their own forces in order to
strengthen ours. This will only continue until this war is over which it
appears that that will not take long.
Surely you see honor in this. I can not help but admit that I personally
feel somewhat reasonable for the humiliating defeat which took place in
Jabua although, the tactics employed by Kaeir were brilliant. Also I will
say that if you wish to have anyone come in our ranks in order to study the
demons as we continue our war they are welcome.
King Ronara Rhudyn
Kaeirean Reply
To the noble monarch of Rhudyn,
The blessings of He Who Is One be upon you.
My most noble sir, the Brotherhood of the Night willingly contributed to the
defence of Port Annorrur at the request of the government of Kaeir in order to
stem the tide of darkness that threatened your land and to protect the lives of
the many innocents there.
The majority of the Nightbrothers in the contigent of two dozen sent to Port
Annorrur - all specialists in binding magic and thus possessing a degree of
understanding of the foul magicks of the Goblins that far exceeded any other
nation - were Kaeirean. Thus, they, and myself, were greatly disturbed and
insulted that the thanks shown to our aid would be a de facto declaration of
hostility towards the land that gave them birth.
This injustice will be remembered by the Brotherhood, who had sent some of
their best and most powerful brethren to aid your country, despite the inherent
risk of war and the potential loss of many valuable members of the Brotherhood.
For the record, the Brotherhood of the Night, which is a trans-national
spiritual organisation adhering to the divine truth of the Path of Shanar as
sent down by He Who Is One, supports Kaeir's actions in Port Jabau. Too long
has the gateway to Akbari, the city holy to all Millati, suffered an occupation
by the same tyrants that persecuted the great prophet, the Conveyor Faymiyun al
Shawari.
However, should Rhudyn or any other nation be threatened by darkness again,
the Brotherhood will still volunteer its aid, dedicated as it is to the
combatting of evil and darkness. But we shall remember the thanks that Rhudyn
has paid to the Brotherhood.
