Action template

Send your actions in the game to the mailing list in the following format:

Action 1/2/...: title
Weight: single / double / quadrable / extra
Fudge-points: how many fudge-points are used to preset the dice
Difficulity: -4...+4 / insignificant...epic
Description: who does, how, what is the aim
Factors: (Only if it is needed, this is not usaully needed) list of modifiers/determinants justifying the difficulity
Subparts- four subpart that make up the total action. You can put in luck as a filler if you dont have a fourth subpart.

Below, the items are description in more detail.

  • Action: action number, and a title for or a very short summary of the action, e.g. "War w/ the Infidels", "Working the fields", etc.).
  • Weight: Is this a single, double (+1), triple (+2), quadrable (+3) or extra action (-1)? Note that if there are multiple extra actions, the -1 modifier cumulates.
Difficulity label Dice modifier Succees:Mixed:Failure
Epic -4 1:1:198
Huge -3 1:4:95
Very hard -2 1:3:16
Hard -1 1:1:3
Normal 0 2:1:2
Easy +1 3:1:1
Routine +2 16:3:1
Trivial +3 95:4:1
Insignificant +4 198:1:1
  • Fudge-points: How many fudge points do you use to effect the dice roll? For one fudge point, one dice is prevented from being -1. For two fudge points, it is preset to +1. Etc. You can use 8 points on an internal action and 4 on external actions.
  • Description: should be a detailed explanation of what the action is about. A couple of sentences or longer, paragraphs are nice, some people actually write stories along w/ a description of their actions. This is really cool. The more detailed the more depth is added to the your actions and the world). Include for example the below:
    • Who is the acting key element?
    • What is (s)he doing?
    • What is the purpose of this action, how will it affect your society?
    • How is the action done?
    • Are there limiting factors, like secrecy, involved?

  • Factors: a list of factors, both positive and negative, which effect the chances of success: note that these are not modifiers to the action, but more like justification for the success chance given above.)

  • Subparts. this is a list of four things that are imperative to your action. They do not all need to succed for a success but you might have to do another action to complete important subparts that do not have a succes in an original action.
