Ban Horroth, borders? Are they not a Isolated society in the MOUNTAINS? I am sure the Aixelsydans control the edges of the Mountains, but not in the Middle really. Also, the Ban Horroth don't seem to be territorial. Just my opinion...

Four days in the temple. Four days of prayer and supplication, days of censured smoke and raw-throated psalms. Four days without sign of divinity. After four full days, the temple remained still.

The four days after the new moon, sacred to their goddess, one day for each college and the fourth day for the goddess herself. And at the end of the fourth day, as it had for each month previous over the past two years, the temple was still, their cries ignored.

The High Priest and Archmage had just set aside his miter when the altar cracked, a single fault bisecting its length, a small, almost invisible mar, but the sound echoed in the temple like the chime of a bell, or a death knell, and the assemblage froze, stunned. A sound like the roar of wind-driven rain boomed through the building, driving some to cover their ears in pain, so loud it was, and mixed within the roar was the haunting tones of aeolian harps.

After the sound came the light, blazing from the slit in the altar like the blue-white rays of a newborn sun, blinding, burning, all-consuming, and they fell within it.

Below them in the grey void, a city hung, torn from the earth, denied the heavens. Above it rose the anguished ghost of a man torn in twain, lifted as though by an invisible claw about his chest; his life's blood flowed through the city's streets and poured from its edge as a river, and it smelled of lilac as the grey mists turned it under and let them adrift again.

They felt rather than saw a great hand reaching, grasping, hungry as a mouth, straining just beyond the walls of being, filled with longing, and fear caught their breaths within them. A form approached with the fog, shrouded in the black robes of the desert witches. The robes curled back from a fiery form who stretched out her hand, and the robes became a spear thrusting forward, through them and then gone and they, untouched.

And in the void, there came a singing, the voice of a girl-child, a simple tune, the lullaby of their youths, the words now twisted strange and sung by granite stones.

Hordes race forward from the north, screaming in fury, crying for blood, numerous as the sands of the desert, black shrouded women within their midst, screaming for vengeance with soundless tongues, a world of flame in their wake.

And at their head came a man with their own face, wounded as unto death yet moving without falter, black flamed daemons at his shoulders, riding in a chariot of beaten brass, sweeping down as the scythe of death.

A creature rose from the seas to the east, a centaur with the bodies of two men, not one, and the two did battle above their single body and when one struck the other, both fell as dead.

Two women stood with hands clasped together and one shone as a new dawn and the other wore seraph wings as a guardian cloak. Behind them old robed men sat within a boat upon the sand, bailing water from within to without, sinking slow in a flood not there.

A king in the west wrung water from his hands into a washbowl and turned to face the twilight. The water in the bowl became blood and cried as a newborn child as he walked into the sea.

A blind man wept at the base of a tree, speaking truths in a tongue unknown, and none listened as the tree replied with the ringing of cymbals and calling horns.

In the center stood a man before the horde. At his side, a child in rags, a great jeweled sceptre cradled to her chest. The man held out in either hand a golden mirror and spoke first to one, "Dexter", and then the other, "Tallus", and the chalk white cliffs beneath him shattered like glass, falling away into the void like raindrops of melted snow, and darkness rose up on leathered wings to engulf them all.

And the temple was as it had always been save a hairline fissure in the altar as the supplicants stood, as if awakened from a long sleep, and were afraid.

Action 1-2: Reconvert the Morvali People to the Old Ways (1 of 3 years)

The Seeresses of the Shanari have been killed, paving the way for the shamans of the old religion to re-assert heir influence on the lives and politics of the Morvali people. The shamans still sit in the High Council of Corryn, and the ruling-matriarchs have remained true to the goddess Jaikosa, but much of the Morvali population worships the Shanari god Sin-Alb, threatening the hegemony of the Wandering Shamans. The Wandering Shamans have decided to undertake a massive re-conversion attempt by syncretizing the Shanari and Morvali faiths. What will threats do to solve the problems in the Razanian Coast? The Razanians want all of their coast back, they won't stop until they do. For the Aryisans, i would think they want payback? atleast the crusaders do or whatever... Also, the Razanians hates Mir, don't you think? Since they use magic and they did before toke over the Razanian Coast, despite how long ago it is. -LordLMP

What Mir is trying to do is say. Get them to stop fighting each other at the moment and help deal with the threat. After the threat has been taken care of then they can go back to butchering each other.

I have to agree. (The end is nigh!)

The only thing such a delegation might do is pause the fighting for a moment while the delegation is slaughtered. These are two cultures that have a deep-rooted distrust of magic (Indeed, in the first Cloak and DAgger stories, the Archmage disguised himself while in Aryisa so he wouldn't be slaughtered out of hand.) The Asagmari would like to control the whole coast, and they are definitly not giving up a single inch of land.

Why do you think that I sent Riacradsa. She is after all the Warlord and could proble hold off attack until she teleported out of there, and she did come with guards. Not to mention that the leaders of those two societies, while they are in the back waters, would not be so stuped as to let a deleget form another country get killed while he/she was on a peaceful mission to their country. Now I could see them saying "no" then "you have a half hour to get out of here before you get killed."

Not all were killed The fact that they are still there would be a negative.

Results so far +1 -1 +2 -2 ( -1 0 0 +1) +1 +() +()

Suggestion: They people so far are still willing to lisen to the Shamans.

Their is news from the north. The floating city has moved. It is heading towards Sarunor. The Sinari, know lead by the Seeress Kala are following after it. There also rumors that they are ready for blood after the death of Hisnivol and the Seeresses that were killed.

+2 0 +1 -1 (-1 0 0 -1 ) = 0 Mixed results

Suggestion: The land is tilled but that is about as far as it goes after that most the peasents returne home and let the most of the harvest go to waste.

+2 -2 +2 -1 (-1 0 0 -1) = -1 Faliure

Suggestion: The Matriarchs do not get on the High Council. Many of them go home and do nothing about it.

I know, just saying that the Mage will have trouble playing Peacekeeper, especially when Magic and Mir, but not has bad as before, is hated among the Razanians. Anyway, just saying you'll have hard time convincing the Razanians either way, since the Threat isn't the biggest threat of the Razanian Coast at the moment...and as if the Razanians will be able to help stop the threat anyway. Their Navies is small and not up to standard compare to other more develop societies. The Razanians are more interested getting rid of the Asagmari, especially when they are going head way with it...if they stop, risk gettingcounter attacked, will give Aryisa time to fortify their current Borders and get military more ready later on. Anyway, me personally have better ideas what i can do with the Razanians then war all of the time, but since Aaron is playing again, won't be able to go straight forward in taking Razan(Aryisa City) and the other city back atleast...

Also remember that the Razanians is comprise of several Kingdoms, currently at the moment united against Aryisa under the Century Council. So depend where the Mir delagation is arriving...especially by surprise and without early notice...even if you did, will be hard for Razanians to get it, since all Kingdoms are independent, yet united under the Century Council currently. Dunno how many turns you want to waste to stop the war between the Razanians and Aryisa, but i sure know it will be Very Hard indeed. wink

0-2+4+(+1+0+0-1)=+2 The emperess (secretly encouraged and supported by the Order of Lucia) agrees that Mir and Cedonia must act together to repulse the Sinari invasion when it occurs. The Cedonia's still maintain their deepseated distrust of magic and still nurse the old grudges against the Mir but seem completely willing to assist in the face of a common foe. The Cedonians are also already accepting refugees from the northern areas. The emperess does indicate, in passing, that, following the defeat of the Sinari, she expects the Cedonians to be allowed control of much of the conquered area but does not pursue the issue.

(This action is severely hampered by the fact that both the new Warlord and, therefore, her main Eerith assistant have been dispatched to the Razianina coast. -1)

0-1+1+1-1+(-1-1+1+0)=-1 While not actually doing any long term harm, attempts at training make it increasingly apperant that strong and heavy handed leadership will be necessary to unite the warrior-mages of Mir into a strong unit. In the warlord's abscence, the ex-sinari Mage (the archmages illegitimate granddaughter, if memory serves me) steps in to minimize the quarreling and prevent any lasting damage from occuring to the project.

-2 The razianan longstanding internal harted and their inate distrust and dilike of the arcane (It is my understanding that the threats referred to are the standing menace of the Sinari, not threats by the Mir agains the Razianans.)

0-2+1-2+(+0+0-1+1)=-3 (lol, it seems the dice have been listing to the players)

The razianans are dead set on their civil war and will not look beyond it. Effectively, the only this that prevents severe repercussions of the visit is that the Mir are unwilling to create a situation where they must gaurd on two fronts and both sides of the razianan civil war dare not risk taking any action which would allow the other to gain forgien support. The discussions fail rapidly and with tensions VERY high (-1 to future relations for the next two years).

-1 Eubrastsa is unable to give the fae his full attention due to his continued dealings with the emperess of Cedonia

+1+2(half of the secondary determinent)-2+2+1-1+(+1-1-1+1)=+3 The fae agree to provide support in the defense of Mir and in opposition to (their phrasing) "foes of a greater arcane nature". The fae are willing to act as needed but express a preference (just a request, nothing binding) not to be put in direct conflict with mundane armies such as the Sinari military, perfering, instead, to concentrate their efforts on the arcane side of the coming conflict. The fae also request acsess to the Mirish archives, offering to assist in discerning the nature of their foe and unraveling the mysteries of how the Septer and Mirror are to be used. (again, just a request, nothing binding)

+4-3+1+2-1+(-1+0+1-1)=+2

For three years, the Mir have quested repeatedly into the grey mists of the dreaming. What they find is both helpful in the short term, but also quietly disturbing. After compiling and discussing years of work, the Mir reach a series of conclusions on various topics:

The source of the Fae reluctance to commit to assistance: The dreaming is disturbingly empty and quiet but permiated by a looming pressure, as though something is constantly lurking just outside of detection, a kind of simmering, nonspecific pressence. Even the fae themselfs do not know what the source of this perception is or even if it is actually anything other than a "dream". Still, this odd timbre to the fabric of the dreaming has the fae constantly on edge.

The edge of the Dreaming: To their complete shock and amazement, the Mir suspect that there is, indeed, an end to the dreaming. While this itself is not an unexpected discovery, what is surprising is that there seems to be more beyond the dreaming than simply the void. Since this was not relevant to their desperate search, the Mir did not pursue this anomoly further.

The sentiences: There are, within distant pockets of the dreaming, what seem to be entities in a state resembling a perpetual sleep. The Mir opted not to pursue these anomolies, unsure of the nature or intent of the beings.

Dragons: After significant searching, the Mir finally contact a dragon. It is ancient, even by draconian standards and very apathetic about the Mir concerns. When pressed, it does indeed offer to come through the gateway but, at this juncture, the Mir believe it may be safer to leave it where it is resting (it seems more than a little senile and dangerous). What this elder worm does provide the Mir another mystery, as transcribed in the following conversation:

Mir: But, where are your siblings? There should be hundreds of other dragons. It: There are others. Not hundreds, maybe a dozen. Mir: But where? It: You took them already. Mir: You mean centuries ago. It: No, more like a few decades by your reckoning. Mir: We did not take them. It: All you humans look the same to me. Mir: So someone has already summoned your siblings, recently? It: Looks that way. Mir: And you do not know who? It: Don't care. I stayed because I don't like cities. Mir (to themselfs): Cities? Could the traitor have been here first? It (overhearing): I wouldn't worry about it. Mir: What do you mean? It: Dexter Tallus Mir: What? It: I said I wouldn't worry about it. Mir: No, after that. It: That's the last thing I said. Mir: No, you said Dexter Tallus. What is that? It: (snore) Mir (to themselfs): I think the dragons are already in Qai.

Better luck next time. smile Also, its not a Civil War, the Razanians and Aryisans were/are not part of the same Society, so its just a big war for complete control of the Razanian Coast, which does belong to the Razanians. smile

This sure will explain the Dreaming bit more and how Celandra can easily disapear and possibly survive in the Dreaming....Also helps with my version of the story of what Happened to Celandra...

Milakanuri Actions Year 1417 RESULTS Jtsl - Posted: Mon, 20 Mar 2000 21:22:29 GMT

Year 1417 Milakanuri Year 4141

Actions I-III: Increase trade with Taltheran Strategic Action, Year 2 of 2

This year, the Per-Aa will concentrate his efforts on establishing increased trade relationships with the Taltherans.

Last year's Results -1 -2 +2 -1 (-1 +1 +1 -1 ) + (-1 +1 +1 +1 ) +2 = +2 Success

Suggestion: The Taltherans do agree to open up trade. A +1 to trade for the next three years.

An additional +2 this year, plus the die roll

Action IV: Recruit for the Society of the Half-Lidded Eye

Internal Action, Tactical

The Society will attempt to recruit noble members disaffected by the Per-Aa's poor choices for his cabinets.

Actor: The Society Difficulty: Hard Primary determinant: Inverse of Per-Aa's consent (-2, so +2) Modifiers: None additional

+ Increase in authority and/or influence of the Society (currently pretty sad) () No change - Decrease in authority and/or influence of the Society

Results +2 (-1 0 -1 -1 ) = -1 Faliure

Suggestion: They loses even more support from the nobles. Who fear that a civil war might start if they join to Society

Um the actions that I told you about were for next year. So Mir has not yet begun to gather at the city, It will do that next year. Sorry I should of made that clearer. So do want them to count for next year? Since I am ending the year today. If you want me to do them for this year then tell me and I will still resolve them and send them to you, but I thought that those were your next year actions.
