[Actions 1418] Laria'rathi
NStevens - Posted: Wed, 22 Mar 2000 00:33:13 GMT
Extreme effort will be made to explain how to integrate Celpali living
practices into the Kel'ren'aie faith to those repulsed by last year's
effort. The members of the church on Celpalar (human and Laria'rathi) and
its colonies will also emphasize the superiority of our faith. Since the
initial rush conversion was not successful, the members of the church and
other Shakaari will work on long-term relationships with locals and local
leaders, demonstrating to them how Kel'ren'aie is better than their ritual
religion.
Action I
Strategic-External (2 of 2)
Type: Conversion
Actor: Prelate Le'noir
Summary: Continue to actively seek out Celpali and convert them to
believers in Kel'ren'aie. The focus will be narrowed to try to convert
Celpalar leaders and influential people, in the hopes that they will then
convert their followers and constituents.
Secrecy: Normal
Primary Determinant: Religion Sophistication Superb (+3), Influence
Religion Legendary (+4)
Secondary Determinant: Philosophical Orientation Acquisition, Conquest
(+2) [desire to expand faith]
Task: Very Hard (-2)
Modifiers: ++ success of building of temple and tremendous recent local
reception of the foreign faith
-- local religion already a part of culture, life
- humans
+ most Celpali are not devoutly religious, thus leaving them open to
foreign influence
+ Church of Kel'ren'aie is well organized and devoted to spreading the
faith
- Celpali may be wary of too much foreign influence
[A renewed emphasis will be placed on these next three items.]
+ reception of Kel'ren'aie will help their magicians understand and
practice our magicks
+ accepting Kel'ren'aie will aid both our people in combining to form a
unique culture
+ conversion will be conducive to peaceful joint colonization ventures, as
we will both have more similar goals
- human stubbornness and resistance to change
[new modifiers]
+ focus narrowed to select few now and not general populace as before
+ members of the church will use the powers of Kel'ren'aie to benefit the
Celpali in their lives to help convince them of the reality of our faith
+ Celpali will try to be convinced they will not need to change their
ritual ways significantly; their ritual may just be another expression of
the Kel'ren'aie faith
+ aid of recently converted Celpali from two years ago, now more mature in
their faith and able to spread it better
-- apathy and rejection from last year

- Celpali are not receptive
0 some are converted, some are driven away
+ a lot are converted
++ Kel'ren'aie is very well received and embraced by many of Celpalar
+++ becomes dominant religion on Celpalar
The initial colonists are very pleased with their success. Now
fortifications must continue to be built to keep out undesirables and
protect the locals. A castle will be constructed for defense at each
colony, using local resources as much as feasible. Special care will be
used in Stone Isle, the colony with the ruins, to protect it. Divine
protection of the fortifications will be implemented by the Church of
Kel'ren'aie. A new organ of the church will be created; this will be
composed of many templar and magi, led by a few guards and Sentry
Moorgral. More farming towns will be built as we expand. Food supplies
have been ample but we should save some for a possible bad harvest or some
other mishap.

The War of Faith

Sorry I should of sent this in last year.
Part One: The New Plan (year 1417)
Southern Forest
In great southern forest a cry rises from ancient ruins. Standing in
the ruins is the Traitor, around him are the ruins of a once mighty
fortress city. He stood there his robes are torne his faces and arms
covered with wounds. He silently sent out his thoughts. "Ancient One."
"Yes mortal?" the voice said.
"You said the scepter would be here." The Traitor said accusingly.
"It was. It has been removed." The ancient once's voice eoched
"Were is it.?"
"I don't know. The Eerith have hidden it."
"But you control the Eerith."
"Not these one. The Eerith are beging to free themselfs, but these are
the last of my worries. Because of your arrogence we have lost the
Mirror." The voice said angrey.
"But with out the scepter how can we win. The plan has fallen
apart?" The Traitor responded.
"Your plan may have failed but mien has not." the voice said smugly
"Your plan." The Traitor said his face draining of color. How could he
have been so stuped. He had been played the fool. The Ancient One had
another plan that he wished to achive.
"You know to much. If you dare run away from me I will kill you, or
else Mir will catch you and hand you over to one to whom you betrayed
even more then the Sorcerers. What will you do?" The voice said, the
threat clearly there.
"I will do as you ask." The Traitors voice was no more then a wisper.
"What do you plan to do?" Then the Ancient One told him, and his face
whitened. He began to regreat his ambition...
Ruins of Myr-Kun
The Seeresses were asleep and as one they woke. They knew with out
seeing that Sin-Alb was ready. They left the ten to discover that the
home of Sin-Alb was moving and it was heading south east towards the
land of the Midsea.
Kala stood there when she felt something take control of her body, and
then she spoke in a voice not her own. "Children of Sin-Alb the time
has come. We will revenge are murdered leader and the Seeresses. We
shall destroy the land of the heathens. Follow Sin-Alb." Then the
Sinari let out a great chear as the began to pake to leave.
An hour later the Sinari were on the move. Leaving behind them the only other bastion of Mirish culture and faith in ruins.

Action Two: Reinforce invasion of Tanimbar
The Cedonian High Command orders the 17th and 21st Foot Legions and the
7th
Cavalry Legion to reinforce the invasion. These are tough, fresh troops
and
should provide good support for the 3rd, 5th, and 18th Foot Legions
already
committed to the Tanimbar front. The resulting group of six legions plus
attachments is reorganized and designated the Army of the South and
placed
under the command of Field-Marshal Cawdor, the second-highest ranking
officer
in Cedonia. As of the third month of 1417, nearly one-fifth of Cedonia's
standing army is committed to the invasion.

Action Three: Move Against the Sinari
Acting under Empress Yzara's orders, the High Command begins assembling
a force
to move against the Sinari nomads in concert with the forces of Mir. The
1st,
11th, 16th, 20th, and 22nd Foot, the 2nd Guards, and the 6th, 8th, and
9th
Cavalry are ordered to muster at Talishara. There they will undergo a
period of
training to drive home the fact that the Mirish are their allies. Yzara
appoints her uncle, the Duke of Caladyn as commander of the Cedonian
contingent, making him the de-facto second in command to the Warlord of
Mir.
This represents a full quarter of Cedonia's military might, leaving the
remainder rather stretched.
Determinants: Same as for the Mir action
Mods: + The Duke's personal attributes

+ The Cedonians have an understanding that they will be allowed to

Action 1-2: Reconvert the Morvali People to the Old Ways (1 of 3 years)
Many of the Seeresses of the Shanari have been killed, paving the way for
the shamans of the old religion to re-assert their influence on the lives
and politics of the Morvali people. The shamans still sit in the High
Council of Corryn, and the ruling-matriarchs have remained true to the
goddess Jaikosa, but much of the Morvali population worships the Shanari god
Sin-Alb, threatening the hegemony of the Wandering Shamans. The Wandering
Shamans have decided to undertake a massive re-conversion attempt by

Action 1-2: Reconvert the Morvali People to the Old Ways (2 of 3 years)
Many of the Seeresses of the Shanari have been killed, paving the way
for
the shamans of the old religion to re-assert their influence on the
lives
and politics of the Morvali people. The shamans still sit in the High
Council of Corryn, and the ruling-matriarchs have remained true to the
goddess Jaikosa, but much of the Morvali population worships the Shanari
god
Sin-Alb, threatening the hegemony of the Wandering Shamans. The
Wandering
Shamans have decided to undertake a massive re-conversion attempt by
syncretizing the Shanari and Morvali faiths. The Wandering Shamans have
declared Sin-Alb, to be the son-consort of Jaikosa, and will direct his
worship.

agriculture.
As the rudimentary attempt last year was largely a failure, the High
Council
has decided to make a more concerted effort to improve the production of
the
lands north of Corryn. Workers will once again be conscripted from the
neighboring clans, but workers loyal to the ruling matriarchs will also
be
brought in to advance the cause. In addition, fertility magicians from

The War of Faith
Part Two: The fall of Wyr.
Out of the North it came. Fear followed it as it traveled south.
Darkness following it, a darkness that could destory the Qayiore. Its
towers pierced the clouds. Its mist hiding its rocky base. Annayea
once the vessels of Mirish conqest was know the vessel of Sin-Alb and
his nomads.
The city of Wyr watched in horror. They had head the tails from Myr-Kun
and Sarunor. The Sinari destoyed the army and then destoyed the city.
They left no prisoners unless you converted to the worshiped of their
heathen god. The people watched in horror.

flee south towards the gathered army called the Western Defences
Talishara
The Warlord, Farcesa, Rease, and the Cedonian Generals look up at the
commotion from outside. "What is going on out there?" The Warlord said
as she stood up. Just then a sorcerer entered the tent out of breath.
"What is it." The warlord demanded.
"The Oracle." He said trying to catch his breath. The Warlord taped
her foot in impaticence. Finally the Socerer regained his breath. "The
Oracle spoke."
"What did it say?" The Warlord said.
"She of the Isle and the Empire comes. Beware she comes." The Warlord
started at him for a long moment. Then she turned to Facresa. "I
though Sin-Alb was a He?"
"Last time I checked he was always betrayed as a he." Facresa said.
"Warlord." the sorcerer said inturupting. She turned to him. "We felt a
precence in the Oracle. It was the same one that was in the Grand Hall
when Facresa joined us."
"What can it mean." She said siting down.
Rease eyes glowed with amusment.

Qayiore stands on the brink of war. From the once great and mystious
city of Wyr the Sinari shall invaded were will they strike? The Army of
the Western Defence wait at Talishara to see were the Sianri will

0-1+1+1+(0+1-1+0)=+1 Success. The armies begin to gather. With multiple
chains-of-command, there is a great deal of confusion and a significant
number of details need to be sorted out (possibly requiring a consent roll
to determine how efficiently the mixed armies will work together). With the
exception of Reese, the eerith withdraw from training the Mir, deciding
that, even though the training is not completed, there is no more time.

-3+1-1+(-1-1+0+1)=-4 Severe failure. Having almost no idea where to begin
the search, the sorcerers spend most of their time on fruitless
investigation and wasted effort. As a result of the severity of the failure,
the eerith significantly increase their presence amoung the seekers but
provide no actual help in the search. If anything, the eerith presence seems
to hinder the search rather than help it.

0-1+1+1-1+(0+1+0+0)=0 Marginal results. With all that is going on in Mir,
the Archmage is simply too overextended to put sufficient energy into this
attempt. His job is further complicated at this time by the presence of
multiple forgien leaders and the turmoil of the times. It does seem that
Eubatrosa may be more sucessful in this if he can use these forgien leaders
to garner support, ie, by increasing his international standing during this
period of continental crisis.

(Cedonia already did that.) The cedonian general are a little confused by the
way the Mirish army works. Were Cedoians have many generals Mir has only two.
The Warlord, and the Archmage. The big probel is not the armies but combining
the diffrent technqiues together.

The many nations of Qaiyore head Mirs call to war and an almost universal
decloration of war is declared on the Sinari. (The PC players can desided if
their society declares war or not.) But that as far as it goes. They are
contented in the war but thats all. Except Taltheran who has sent its armies to
its border to defend agaisnt the Sianri.

The proud warlord of Mir march in straight lines and dressed in the robes and
armor they carry the pride of Mir with them.

The Sorcerer haveing already determend that it was in the south begin to tare
the south apart. Acoponed by Eerith how on more then once saved them as the
were going throught the southern forest from stay goblins often as not would
always be under the Sorceres feet. They do narrow down the area though.

Eubratosa ever the diplomat seeing that the council is devided desided that the
only way to gain more power is to forse his power on them. He begins to turn
towards the foriegn leaders in Mir for support. Espesial the Celpalar military
