Known Deities of Celandra List
The Elder Gods
The Creator
Worshipped throughout Celandra.
The Creator is the first and greatest of all gods, though completely unknowable to mortals.
Cascasoevin
God of life and pleasure (that which makes life worth living).
Coron
God of birth, death, and transition; protector of the dead. The Sedonian
Coron is known as
Flachoyasa on Celamyr and Orasaren.
Maracor
God of undeath. Known as the Soul-Thief and the Vampire-King,
Maracor was cast out of the dreaming and is said to be imprisoned somewhere on the islands far to the east of the Razanian Coast and south of Celpalar. Also known as
Malacor or
Malacoron (false
Coron), he is worshiped in the Southwest of Qaiyore, but never in the same areas as
Coron.
Miracradsa
Goddess of magic, mystery, wisdom, truth, and other ineffable qualities. While
Miracradsa is her best-known name, she has many others. In Sedonia, she is
Meranrai, the Mother of Magic. In Rhudyn, she is
Origemanda. The Kelshiri tribes name her
Dwi Hantu, and to both the neo-pagan and Millati Shanari, she is
Sin Bomor or
Boromantiyyah. She is known as
Runur to the Ban Horroth. In old Kaeir, she was the
Hexxenkuuniga, although with the conversion to the Millati faith, most Kaeiran magic users refer to her as
Beittersuiss van Hexxenkuuniga, the Bittersweet Queen of Magic.
Nagasri
Dualist god of the Panchayyah. Known primarily as Snake Lord, his other titles include the Wise One, the Guardian of Crops, the
Confidante, the Righter of Wrongs, the Watchful One, the Dark Saviour,
the Lord of Mysteries, the Righteous Serpent; and, alternatively, the Knower of the Ancient, the Consuming Serpent, Lord of the Night,
the Keeper of Secrets, the Whisperer, the Creeping Hunter, the Vengeful Shadow, Teacher of the Unknownable, the Unseen Serpent
Scorax
God of Madness, Forbidden Knowledge, and Disease. Known as The Mad and He Who Knew Too Much,
Scorax is a member of the dark pantheon and worshiped by the southern goblins.
Sul
God of Famine, Greed, and Lust. Known as the Insatiable Maw,
Sul is a member of the dark pantheon. His appetites are, literally, insatiable, and most of the other dark gods are perfectly happy with his continued imprisonment in the Dreaming. Even imprisoned,
he can still affect the minds of beings on Celandra. Like
Yaga,
Sul's worshippers are usually his first targets.
Sul is strongly opposed by Arrumantha/us and Cascasoevin.
The Lord of Flames
Deity of the element of fire.
The Lady of Stone
Deity of the element of earth.
The Lord of the Seas
Deity of the element of water. Known throughout the MidSea, his worship is strongest on the isle of Orasaren. In that place, he is called Manawydan.
The Lady of the Winds
Deity of the element of air.
The Younger Gods
Arlova
Goddess of health and healing.
Arrumantha
God of seasons, agriculture, and plantlife. Known as
Arrumantha in
Sedonia and other areas of the northwest MidSea, she becomes the male
Arrumanthus in Orasareni speaking areas.
Calra
Goddess of Poison, Disease, Assassination, and Cowardice. Known as The Vile,
Calra is worshipped by the southern goblins, and was known to the Avaerans. Worshipers of
Demerhaze consider all followers of
Calra particularly fitting targets of vengeance. Unlike the other members of the dark pantheon,
Calra was never imprisoned, growing weaker as she every time she was brought to bay over the ages, but always managing to escape.
Celandra
Celandra is physical existence apart from the Dreaming. In Sedonian myth she is synonymous with
Order, a primal power which followed
The Creator.
Chaos
In Sedonian myth, Chaos is the primal power that followed
The Creator, and is roughly synonymous with
The Dreaming. In other myths
The Creator brought forth
Celandra from Chaos.
Demerhaze
Goddess of darkness, children, liberation, and vegeance. Goddess of Night and the Greater Moon. Under the aegis of Exquaestio, she is called
Haza by the
Tana. Demerhaze's Aspect changes with the phases of the Greater Moon: when it is Full, her Aspect of Liberator dominates, and when it is New, the Avenger aspect dominates. Before the Godswar, she was the Patroness of the Seelie Fae; after it, she became Patroness of both the Seelie and Unseelie Fae.
Ertoslator
God of Intrigue, Betrayal, and Shapechangers. Known as the Liar,
Ertoslator is the messenger of the dark pantheon. He is strongly opposed by Sedon and Lucia.
Feroze
God of discovery, exploration, and travel. A newcomer to Celandra, his
worship is making great gains, centering the northeast MidSea. He is called
Haroze by the
Tana.
Garr
God of Fear and Rage. Known as the Father of Goblins, the Lord of Ice, the Creeping Fear, and the Many-Handed, he is a member of a dark pantheon, the demon-gods of the goblins. Cast out of the dreaming, Garr was dismembered. Half his body is supposed to be imprisoned in the icy wastes south of the Telar Pass. His other half is entombed in a ruined city in the Kivirian Mountains, somewhere north of Tanat.
Garr is worshiped in the northern jungles, the western part of Torphan, and among the southern goblins.
Hadula
God of Dreams, Visions, Portents, and Fortune among the
Tana.
Halata
God of Protection, War, and Battle. Known as
Halata to the
Tana, to the Ban Horroth he is
Akhur. Halata tends to be focused on individual warriors. To the Shanari, he is
Sin Karis or
Karisyyah, the Sword Angel.
Hana
Goddess of Knowledge (perhaps "skill" would be a better term) and
Healing. Called
Hana by the
Tana, to the Ka'Shari she is
Elyisa.
Hayla
Nature Goddess of the
Tana.
Deity associated with Kaeir.
Lettin
A minor deity in the service of
Feroze.
Lucia
Goddess of Light, the Sun, and Justice. Guardian of the Mind.
Marmdal
God of weather, horses, and rulership.
Merenyaga
A sister-goddess to Demerhaze and Lusia, Meranyaga was once the Goddess of Hearth and Home and Patroness of the Unseelie Fae, but is now the Goddess of Love Unrequited and of Love Gone Wrong, as well as being the Goddess of the Lesser Moon. Like Demerhaze, her aspect shifts with the lunar cycle: at the Full she is the Matchmaker who brings lovers together, and at the New she is the Woman Scorned who destroys existing relationships. Meranyaga sided with the rebel gods not out of desire for personal gain, but out of her love for Garr.
Mithrac
God of War. Concerned more with the organization of war, he does not seem to be the same as
Halata. In Sedonian tradition, at least, he is also the patron of surgeons.
Mithrac is strongly opposed to
Yaga. Among the Shanari, he is known as
Sin Raqis or
Raqiyyah, the Shield Angel.
Parr
A minor deity in the service of
Feroze.
Phos & Skotos
The nonexistent god of Videssia.
Sedon
God of Rivers, Roads, and Merchants. The Patron of Sedonia. He seems to be unknown outside of Sedonia.
The Lord of Time
A god mentioned in the myths of
Feroze, this deity has no known church or worshipers.
The Green Lady
The patron spirit or deity of Kaeir. Also known as the
Lady of the Isles, or the Mistress of Kaeir. Little is known about her. Technically, she is not a god, but an extremely powerful land-spirit akin to the Valerians and the Eerith.
Torronir
God of craft, smiths, and building.
Yaga the Destroyer
God of War -- the worst aspects of it. Known as the Lord of War and Horror,
Yaga is imprisoned in a realm in the dreaming, but often slips his bonds to answer calls from Celandra. He is not worshiped as he tends to destroy his worshipers first of all. Often considered a member of the dark pantheon, he does not truly ally with anyone.
