Gavilan Class

The Gavilan class is a design from the Coeur De Loup region, which has since been conquered by the Wargs. It is distinctive, both in its design and in its 2-quanta jump capability, which puts it ahead of most traders its size and gives it the "far trader" designation.

A Gavilan can fly with a minimal crew - pilot and engineer (who also serves as alterday pilot), but usually carries more. A steward and medic are required for passenger service, and/or a supercargo for cargo hauling. Gavilans carry two shuttles, and depending on demand may have one or two dedicated shuttle pilots as well.

Typically, Gavilans have a cargo section capable of holding 12 high-cube containers (FEUs), and a passenger section with six staterooms. The shuttles are modular open frames, and can carry one FEU, exposed to space.
