GAMERS is about roleplaying games (including sims), and almost anything of interest to the average roleplayer. It is not specific to any one system, though some system-specific discussion does go on.
Group Policies
- Trim your quotes - GAMERS archives are permanently available, so there's no need to quote more of a post than is necessary to establish context. Readers can always go back to the original post and reread it.
- Don't top-quote - Put your reply after the quote you're replying to. Our forum software will eventually be able to thread conversations at the paragraph level, and if you don't keep the discussion in chronological order, the thread won't make sense.
- Try to keep the discussion at a level that everyone can participate on, even if they haven't read the game in question. If you want to discuss the beauty or brokenness of a resolution mechanic, give a brief description of it so everyone understands.
- Don't say anything you wouldn't say to someone's face when you were both guests in a mutual friend's home. (Because except for the "face" part, you are.)
You can read
GAMERS on the web without "joining" anything. Making a post requires becoming a member, but that's even simpler than posting a blog comment - just enter, along with your post, your name and either an email address or a password to identify you in the future.
You can also receive
GAMERS as a conventional mailing list. Send mail to join+gamers@ the Phoenyx' domain, or register via web and set your subscription to either single message or digest (one MIME package of all the daily posts) mode.
There is more detail in the Phoenyx'
Main.Registration instructions.
